Monastery Profitis Ilias

As the mountain, also the monastery is named Profitis Ilias. It was built in 1711 on the island’s highest peak (584 m). A visit to the Folkloristic Museum is worthwhile. Above, there is a radar station and also a military area.

You should find out about the museum’s opening hours before visiting it. The cloister cannot always be visited. It has long been abandoned by the monks. Garden and library are well worth seeing.
